Spirit Winds is a collective of fine artisan goods started by Richard Parra in 1978. The original concept opened to support the New Mexico art community. In 2018 Matthew Hechter & Cris Urena purchased the business from Richard to continue the vision. Matthew is a local New Mexican with deep roots in the artist community. His grandmother Natalie, was a prominent artist in Rio Rancho, NM. Matthew & Cris met in NYC but relocated with their children to Las Cruces in 2017. Cris immediately fell in love with the "Spirit" of New Mexico and they decided to continue the Spirit Winds mission.
